Getting to Billingen Skövde

Billingen is a stunning plateau located in western Sweden, in the city of Skövde, between the major cities of Stockholm and Gothenburg. The area is easily accessible by train, car, or bus, making it a perfect destination for outdoor adventures.

Arriving by Train or Bus

Skövde is a well-connected railway hub with frequent trains from Stockholm, Gothenburg, and Malmö. The train ride takes approximately:

Stockholm – 2 hours
Gothenburg/Göteborg – 1 hour
Malmö – 3.5 hours

From Skövde Central Station (Skövde C), you can take bus lines 8 or 9 to the Billingehus stop, which takes just a few minutes. Buses run every 30 minutes from 9 AM to 9 PM, seven days a week.

Heading to the ski slope or want a workout? If you're going to the Billingebacken ski slope or want to challenge yourself with an uphill run, take bus line 4 to Käpplunda Park. From there, follow the signs to the ski slope.

If you prefer to hike up, take the steep trail to the right of the slope—this route is known as "Strupen."

Arriving by Car

From Stockholm (345 km)

Take the E20 south towards Mariestad, then turn onto Highway 26 towards Skövde. Drive straight through all roundabouts in Skövde and follow signs for Billingehus or Billingens Fritidsområde.

From Gothenburg (155 km)

Take the E20 north towards Skara, then turn onto Highway 49 towards Skövde. At the first roundabout in Skövde, follow signs for Mariestad, then look for signs to Billingehus or Billingens Fritidsområde.

From Jönköping (87 km)

Drive north on Highway 26, then turn onto Highway 49 towards Skara. At the second roundabout in Skövde, follow signs for Mariestad, then look for signs to Billingehus or Billingens Fritidsområde.

From Karlstad (158 km)

Take the E18 south. After Kristinehamn, exit onto Highway 26 towards Gullspång/Mariestad. Continue on Highway 26 towards Skövde, drive straight through all roundabouts, and follow signs for Billingehus or Billingens Fritidsområde.
