Velofondo Vårgårda
The Velofondo bicycle race is part of an action-packed cycling weekend in Vårgårda. The race is for recreational competitors and is open to anyone and everyone who enjoys cycling, regardless of whether they are experienced or completely new to the saddle.
What is Velofondo?
Velofondo is a recreational race for EVERYONE who enjoys cycling, regardless of their experience. Both elite and recreational cyclists are brought together along winding country roads through the beautiful Västergötland countryside. There is a genuine festive feel to the event, with the whole of Vårgårda filled with proud cyclists and cheering supporters. Everyone who completes the course receives a medal and has their name entered into a prize draw. Not to mention the well-earned ‘après-cycle’ buffet!

You can choose between 56 km and 93 km.
Course
Both distances are along country roads around Vårgårda. Mostly narrow paved roads without a centre line. They are delightfully winding, allowing you to get close to nature without being disturbed too much by traffic. A couple of ascents crown the race, and even if the hills aren’t too steep, your thighs might tell you a different story. The 93 km course also takes you through the town of Herrljunga. You will find a map of the route on the website.
