Hike along the medieval route of pilgrims

Pilgrim Trail Lödöse-Skara via Hålanda, Gräfsnäs, and Nossebro. Satisfy your inner need for peace and tranquility while letting go of everyday obligations. Enjoy the beautiful natural and cultural landscape along the medieval route of pilgrims.

Recharge and breathe in the serene beauty of the countryside: Hike between Nossebro and Essunga church village. Surrounded by haystacks, grazing horses, and expansive views of the autumn landscape, the journey spans a total of 12 kilometers.

In Nossebro, there is plenty to enjoy in terms of food, shopping, and nostalgic experiences. As you venture into the countryside, the Swedish rural landscape welcomes you with open arms. An experience to cherish for a long time.

During the Middle Ages, travelers journeyed far to reach sacred destinations. Just like then, we can now hike through natural and culturally rich environments. In the Middle Ages, Lödöse was both an important port city along the Göta Älv and a crucial hub for pilgrims. The hiking trail is part of several sections that constitute a longer pilgrim trail currently being finalized by the association Framtid Nossebro.

The stretch from Lödöse to Skara passes through Vara municipality and is divided into three sections. The trail is marked with clear signs. Take the opportunity to experience cultural environments and attractions along the hike.
