Curious about runes? Visit the Sparlösa Runestone, one of Sweden’s most remarkable runestones. The stone probably originates from the 9th century. It is unique in its image depiction and the fact that it features both Scandinavian and Swedish runes.

The Sparlösa Runestone has text and images on all four sides and also on its top face. It is unclear whether the stone is a historic or legal document, a poetic account or a memorial. You can view the stone in a special exhibition hall adjacent to Sparlösa Church.
