Cycling on the car-free embankments
Cycling on the car-free embankments
Take the chance to discover Ulricehamn by bike. On bypaths of great natural beauty and car-free embankments you can enjoy the silence and experience wonderful scents.
Going south on Sjuhärad Trail
When you leave Ulricehamn, you take the old railway embankment south towards Tranemo. The route is mostly flat since it was built for trains, and is now asphalted. Between Ulricehamn and Tranemo is 36 km. You pass through a varied landscape with beautiful lake views, leaf-clad hills and vast forests. You will also enjoy several beautiful station buildings, old railway bridges, and will occasionally be cycling above the tops of the spruce trees! The Sjuhärad Trail is a round route of 150 km in total, of which 120 km is completely car free, through Tranemo, Svenljunga, Borås and back to Ulricehamn. You can off course go the other way, so start by cykling from Ulricehamn to Borås, since sjuhärad trail is a round trip.
Going north
The car-free embankment also runs north from the city of Ulricehamn to Falköping. It’s a great bike adventure for the whole family! Lovely scents and spectacular, shifting scenery, beautiful places, unique sights and exciting encounters with people and animals. You’ll pass some stunning nature reserves on the way, like Frälsegården and Baktrågen.
