Equipment and buildings gathered from the old Trollhättan

Forngården is located directly at the edge of Strömslund's sloping mountain range down towards Göta River. The environment consists of a number of buildings that were move to the area in 1934 for various reasons, mainly for preservation.

In the area there are seven buildings, and one beautiful bell tower. Even milestones, sundials and grinding stones are found in the area. The buildings shows an older building tradition from the area around Trollhättan and represents a traditional Swedish building style. 

Motives and history

A museum environment that shows Swedish building culture with good representatives from Trollhättan and the surrounding areas. Each building is unique in itself with significant cultural historical values even though it is not in its original location. In Trollhättan there are very few buildings preserved of this type which reinforce the importance of the area for the city's history and past building traditions.

The cottages are open under limited times

June, July and August Sundays at 13:00-16:00
