1. What is Trollhättan and Vänersborg?
Trollhättan and Vänersborg are two neighboring cities that are located in the western part of Sweden. We work together to make our two cities with surrounding area into one destination that have something to offer everyone that come and visit us. There is much to see and do here so therefore we have gathered information about both cities for you to read to learn more about Trollhättan and Vänersborg.

2. How do I get there?
There are many good connections to both Trollhättan and Vänersborg from other parts of Sweden, regardless of whether you want to travel by car, train, plane, bicycle or boat. We are only about 35 minutes from Sweden's second largest city Gothenburg and about four hours from Sweden's capital Stockholm by train. Trollhättan and Vänersborg are easy to reach and also a great starting-point if you want to explore western Sweden.

3. What kind of accommodations do you have?
Of course you need to spend at least one night in our area if you wish to experience everything you want to do here. In both cities there are several hotels close to the city centers, there are also hostels, bed and breakfasts and individual cottages that you can stay at, either close to or far away from the city buzzle. If you arrive here by boat or motorhome/caravan there are several camping sites and motorhome parking places for you to stay at.

4. What should I not miss while visiting the area?
In Trollhättan and Vänersborg there are three areas we are especially proud of and that you have to visit while you are here. In Trollhättan you have the Trollhätte Canalpark with, among other things, three lock systems, themed playgrounds and the popular Innovatum District where you find the Saab Car Museum and Innovatum Science Center. The city of Vänersborg is located on the southwestern tip of Lake Vänern, Sweden's largest lake and the third largest lake in Europe. Explore the shores of Lake Vänern by foot or by bike and visit interesting places such as the Skräcklan Park, Vänersborg Museum and Ursand Resort and Camping. Outside the cities you have the magical Ecopark Halle- and Hunneberg, home of the moose and a place filled with different nature experiences. Here you find the Royal Hunt Museum Elk Hill that tells you about the history of the mountains and the animals and plants that live there today.

5. How about local transportation and parking?
You can easily travel both within and between Trollhättan and Vänersborg by bus operated by the local company Västtrafik. Traveling between Trollhättan and Vänersborg takes about 30 minutes with many departures every day. You can also take the train and it only takes about 15 minutes. If you want to go shorter distances there is also taxi services in both cities. If you come here by car there are plenty of parking areas and charging stations for your electric car.
