Getting here by car, caravan and motorhome
Are you traveling around Sweden with your motorhome or caravan and want to stay a couple of days here, or do you want to come here by car just to visit our area for the day? Here you will find information about how to get here by car, motorhome and caravan, where to park and tips on camping grounds and motorhome parking.
How to get here
The largest road to pass by our area is the E45 main road that goes south towards Gothenburg and north towards Karlstad. And then from west to east goes the Rv44 road that goes west towards Uddevalla and east towards Lidköping. Our proximity to the West Coast, Lake Vänern and many major cities makes our area a good place to discover this part of Sweden but also it is very easy to get here.

Karlstad: To Trollhättan: 135 minutes / To Vänersborg: 120 minutes
Lidköping: To Trollhättan: 50 minutes / To Vänersborg: 50 minutes
Stockholm: To Trollhättan: 4 hours and 55 minutes / To Vänersborg: 4 hours and 50 minutes
Malmö: To Trollhättan: 3 hours and 50 minutes / To Vänersborg: 4 hours
Oslo: To Trollhättan: 2 hours and 50 minutes / To Vänersborg: 2 hours and 50 minutes
If you want to travel between Trollhättan and Vänersborg by car it only takes about 15 minutes. Taking the car up to Halleberg and Hunneberg from Trollhättan takes about 20 minutes and from Vänersborg about 10 minutes.
Parking in the city centers
Both Trollhättan and Vänersborg offer good parking opportunities in the city center, both along many streets and in dedicated parking areas / parking garages. There is also access to long-term parking near the train stations in both cities. Good to know is that both cities use parking discs in several areas where you can park your car for free for a short time.

Campsites
If you visit our area with your motorhome or caravan, there are several nice campsites to choose from if you want to stay for a while. Outside Vänersborg just by the beautiful Lake Vänern is Ursand Resort and Camping where there are plenty of space for caravans, motorhomes and tents. In Trollhättan there is Trollhättan Camping City which is close by the city center with easy walking distance to the center and several sights. About 5 kilometers south of Trollhättan is also Stenrösets Camping, a nice, rural and child-friendly campsite with their own pool.
Motorhome parking
Come to Trollhättan and Vänersborg with your motorhome and park at one of our motorhome parking sites, here you can find parking close by the cities or a little bit more outside, with or without service.
