International artists, new stars and familiar names

This year's Trollhättan Jazz & Blues is the seventh edition since the start in 2016. We present international artists, new stars and familiar names on three stages over two days.

PROGRAM FRIDAY 

Erik Bibb & Band
With a career spanning five decades, over forty albums, three Grammy nominations, a host of Blues Foundation awards and countless more accolades, Bibb has cemented his legacy as a legendary figure in the blues and roots genres. Eric Bibb is more than a blues troubadour; He is also a storyteller and philosopher.

Kasia Pietrzko & Mikael Godée
Kasia Pietrzko is a Polish pianist, composer and arranger. After a striking debut with her trio, she became not only a prominent young artist in the Polish music industry but also popular throughout Europe. In 2018, she performed with Tomasz Stańko's quartet at Alchemia in Krakow.

Special guest soprano saxophonist Mikael Godée.

Lisa Nilsson & Mattias Torell
Lisa is one of Sweden's most celebrated artists; With her records and concert tours, Lisa Nilsson has established herself as one of Sweden's biggest and most loved artists and songwriters.

The Blue Benders
In just over two years, The Blue Benders have established themselves as a force to be reckoned with in Swedish blues/roots/soul/funk/rock. At Bluespodden's annual vote in 2023 in various categories, the band was awarded at the Bluespodden event on March 17, 2024 at Stampen, prizes for Band of the Year, Record of the Year (Strike One), Live Act of the Year, Singer of the Year (Samson Mirro), and Guitarist of the Year (Edvin Öström).

LILJA
Icelandic-Norwegian artist LILJA (Oddrun Lilja Jonsdottir) is a talented composer and guitarist who has made success on the jazz scene with her innovative, multifaceted ensemble. LILJA has toured the world and collaborated on projects with musicians in India, Lebanon, Ethiopia, Morocco, Iceland and New York, to name a few, incorporating a diversity of sounds into her unique jazz recordings.

PROGRAM SATURDAY

Tove Gustavsson Band
Tove Gustavsson is one of the new generation of female blues artists that the blues scene needs. Tove stands out in the crowd with her own original music and a unique, dark and hoarse voice.

Olli Soikkeli
The Wall Street Journal wrote: "Olli Soikkeli, a captivating Finnish guitarist who combines astonishing dexterity and speed with pure soul in a way that places him among the most worthy modern successors to the legacy of the great Django."

Hedvig Mollestad Trio
The music magazine Classic Rock came closest: Jazz Sabbath. The band's eclectic mix of influences ranges from Black Sabbath and Jimi Hendrix to John Coltrane and contemporary jazz and metal music.

French Trio
The French trio was formed in 2002. A band that slowly but surely has gained an ever-larger audience. The music is a chapter by itself and it is difficult to compare it to anything else.

Scott Hamilton & Jan Lundgren
Jazz musician Scott Hamilton has often visited Sweden since the early 70s. Scott is considered one of the world's best jazz musicians when it comes to interpretations of "The Great American Songbook".

Ladies Got The Blues
Ladies Got the Blues is a female musician collective consisting of some of Sweden's absolute best blues musicians.

Folkets Hus Kulturhuset is one of the major conference and event organizers in this area of Sweden. Kulturhuset (Culture house) is a gathering place for culture and entertainment in Trollhättan and located in the city center just by the main pedestrian street.
