Novemberfestivalen
Trollhättan
The November Festival (Novemberfestivalen) is Sweden's national arena for young filmmakers. The festival is a unique annual meeting place where filmmakers and audiences can exchange experiences, express opinions, and forge new connections across age and regional boundaries.
The festival offers screenings of competing films, seminars, face-to-face meetings with current film personalities, and festivities, not least at the closing awards ceremony where both the November Festival and our partners present awards and honors.
The November Festival is preceded by 19 regional selections around the country, and the competition constitutes a national "final". During the two-day festival, approximately 45 of Sweden's best short films made by young filmmakers are shown. The films competing nationally in the middleweight (16-19 years) and heavyweight (20-26 years) categories must follow the national rules and are judged by a qualified jury.
The November Festival works closely with the film industry and participates in international networks with other festivals and forums for young filmmakers.
The November Festival is organized by N3 Meeting Place for Young Culture, Trollhättan Municipality, with support from the Swedish Film Institute, the Västra Götaland Region, and Folkets Hus Kulturhuset.
