Christmas at Koberg Castle
Trollhättan
Welcome to the Christmas Market at Koberg Castle
One of the most exclusive Christmas markets of the year takes place at Koberg Castle in Västergötland, 2 miles south of Trollhättan. The castle has a history dating back to the 15th century and took on its current appearance in the late 19th century when a major renovation was carried out. The castle is now privately owned. Here you can wander around in a truly historic setting filled with torches and fires.
The Christmas market, which takes place in the castle's outbuildings, is filled to the brim with the cream of the country's craftsmen. Here you will find everything from blacksmithing, straw work, candle making, blacksmiths, ceramics to sewing and wood carving. The exhibitors' creations are always handmade and are never sold through agents, just one reason to visit the fair. And you buy directly from the craftsman.
In the well-stocked food shop, you will find all the delicacies of Christmas, such as sausages, marzipan, local cheese, mulled wine, bread and game, and more. After wandering around the fair for a few hours, you will surely feel the urge for a cup of good coffee with freshly baked bread, then you just have to turn towards the fair's café for a moment of rest and a snack.
Koberg Castle will also be open during the fair with its museum of carriages and harnesses from bygone times, which is in itself one of the fair's main attractions.
