In the forest just outside Hjo you’ll find Inforest, which offers unique accommodation in the form of so called tiny houses: little houses on wheels with all the comforts you could wish for. Enjoy peace and seclusion here with nature as your only neighbour.
You’ll stay completely off-grid at Inforest, at one with nature and with the forest as your only neighbour. There are four tiny houses to choose from, all in a secluded position and cosy, with a fully equipped kitchen, shower and toilet. Bedding, towels and final cleaning are included.
Some of the things that make the accommodation climate smart:
The houses’ electricity is generated from solar panels on the roof, which is then stored in batteries. This means that the house has power even when the sun isn’t shining.
Compost toilets where waste is turned into compost in bio bags.
Houses have a built in water tank holding around 350 litres.
Inforest is open for bookings from April-October.
Activities –Experience the calming power of the forest
Tranquility and relaxation are the keywords at Inforest. Have a stay in the middle of the forest and enjoy the fantastic surroundings.
Walking
The forest setting is perfect for both nice walks and longer hikes.
You’ll find berries and mushrooms to pick depending on the season.
Cycle
You can hire bikes to explore the lovely routes in the forest.
Relax
Snuggle up in quilts and sit around the firepit in the evenings, to enjoy the stillness. There’s wood on site.
Food – make food over an open fire
At Inforest you make your own food in the fully equipped kitchens. Outside each tiny house there’s also a fire pit where you can grill fish, sausages or other goodies. Breakfast can be provided as an extra – the fridge will then be filled before you arrive with everything you need for a great start to the day.
Transport – How to get here in an environmentally friendly way
Inforest is situated in the forest outside Hjo, around two hours from Gothenburg, and you can get here with low carbon emissions.
Train & bus
Take the train to Skövde and then the bus to Hjo bus station, where you will be picked up by electric car and driven to your tiny house. If you’re travelling from Gothenburg the journey will take approximately two hours and around three hours from Stockholm.
Carbon footprint calculation – how the climate is impacted by your holiday
Let us assume that there are two of you living in London and wondering where to go for your holiday this year. You want to have a comfortable stay, eat well and experience something memorable. We’ll show you here how much you can save the climate by travelling to Inforest instead of a standard hotel somewhere else in Sweden. You can also see the CO2 emissions caused by different travel options.
The calculation includes return transport from London for two people, and accommodation. The result is shown per person in the diagram.
