Walk between Nordic Watercolour Museum and Pilane
Skärhamn, Tjörn

12 km, easy

On the island of Tjörn we love art and nature, which is why we have mixed them both together for this wonderful trail. Cycle, run, or walk along a winding route from the galleries at The Nordic Watercolour Museum to the natural setting for Sculpture in Pilane.

Quick facts

Length: 12 km
Time: ca. 50 mins - 2 hours
Difficulty: Easy
Terrain: Asphalt and gravel roads, trails, boardwalks

From The Nordic Watercolour Museum and the quayside in Skärhamn, follow the signs past fishing boats and boathouses through the coastal community’s charming neighbourhood. As the buildings fall away one of Sweden’s most beautiful landscapes opens up. The route continues along winding trails between windswept pine trees and coastal meadows. Keep going through groves of ancient oak and rocky outcrops and there, between the cliffs, stone age graves and free grazing sheep, lies Sculpture in Pilane.

You will find rental bikes at Tjörn’s Tourist Information as well as a choice of accommodation on the island and South Bohuslän.
