44km of cycling adventure on Tjörn

Explore the northwestern part of Tjörn by bike! Embark on a scenic and leisurely 44 km journey along roads kissed by the sea and surrounded by rural landscapes

Breaktime at Sculptures and Beaches

This delightful route begins at Björholmens Marina, allowing you to enjoy breathtaking sea views right from the start. The journey proceeds along the country road, passing the entrance to Pilane Sculpture Park, where you can make a detour to visit the natural art gallery featuring world-class sculptures. Continuing along the country road, you'll reach the signpost for Rörastrand, where you'll turn left to follow the green bike signs towards Röra. Here, you can also take a side trip to the lovely beach at Röra.

Shops and Coffee Stops Along the Route

Continue to follow the bike signs towards Kållekärr. Just before you reach your destination, turn left onto Sundsbyvägen. Then, veer onto the gravel roads on Dösevägen and head towards Valla Church. Along the way, you'll pass Tjörns Hembygdsförening (Tjörn Local History Society) and their impressive museum. A stone's throw from Valla Church, you'll find the blacksmith shop and the store Silver Wijk and enjoy a nice cup of coffee or a tasty lunch close by at Margaretas Kök & Skafferi

Now, continue your bike ride towards Hjältebyvägen and make your way to Myggenäs and Almö Livs, where you can take a coffee break. Perhaps you'll even treat yourself to a swim at Almön's Beach.

The journey takes you back via Myggenäs Korsväg and the bike path all the way to Kållekärr. If you'd like a detour to the sea, you can cross the road via the bike bridge or bike tunnel at Häggvalledamm just before the roundabout. Follow Höviksnäsvägen down towards the harbor and turn right at the beach sign towards Låka.

Once you arrive in Kållekärr, you can stop at Korggubben and Dekorex for some shopping. Continue on the bike path to the roundabout at Hällervägen, where you'll turn right and follow the road back to Brok. Then, turn left and follow the green bike signs via Tådås. Take a left onto the country road and follow the same route back to Björholmen.
