Lammevadskärret
Tidaholm
In the Dimbo district, calcareous springs flow down from the bedrock, forming so-called rich fens with a diverse orchid flora. One of these fens is Lammevadskärret, which is worth a visit during all seasons.
Orchid-Rich Fen
Lammevadskärret is a nature reserve located just south of Dimbo. It is a so-called rich fen, and the calcareous water allows orchids that don't typically grow here to thrive. You can venture into the delicate fen on wide, anchored boardwalks. As mentioned, the fen is rich in orchids. Some examples include the marsh helleborine, fly orchid, fragrant orchid, lesser twayblade, and marsh spurge.
In early June, you can spot the fly orchid, an orchid that resembles an insect. The lesser twayblade is one of the most beautiful orchids that bloom here, and you can see it for a couple of weeks into the month of July. Not only are there orchids, but also an incredibly rich plant life that you can study from early spring to late autumn
