Älgafallet Waterfall
Bullarebygden

The Älgafallet waterfall is right up in the north east corner of the municipality.

The Älgafallet waterfall is right up in the north east corner of the municipality. At 46 m., it is the highest in Bohuslän, and forms the boundary with Norway before flowing into Idefjord via the Enningdalsälv River. The easiest approch to the falls is from a parking place about 1 km over the border into Norway. Information is available regarding border history and ancient monuments. Once upon a time there were several buildings below the falls, including a mill and sawmill. The falls are well worth a visit, especially during extra wet periods in spring and autumn.

Directions

From E6, Road 163 northeast towards Bullarebygden. At Östad village take Road 165 towards Halden. Cross the border at Vassbotten and drive 1 km. to where you will find a nice parking place.
