In Hillared, in northern Svenljunga local authority, you will find Hösjöns badplats. The swimming site is equipped with an outdoor toilet, barbecue area, picnic benches and a jetty. It boasts a small sandy beach and lawn.

There are many excellent places to fish around Hillared! Trout fishing as well as fishing in flowing water are possible in several sections of Ätran as it meanders through the landscape. You will find all our fishery conservation areas here.  The scenic area offers beautiful hiking trails around Lake Såken while the cycle route Sjuhäradsrundan also passes through the area. In Hillared you can stay at Lockryds stugby or why not at Haganäs fiske- och kanotcamp, just adjacent to the river Ätran.

To the south we border Falkenberg in Halland and Gislaved in Småland by means of the beautiful Fegen nature reserve. Our local authority area boasts more than 300 lakes and many streams. There are great opportunities for recreation, including hiking, cycling, canoeing and fishing. Svenljunga is part of the Sjuhäradsbygden in the region of Borås and can be reached by Routes 156 and 154.
