Koster Islands and the Surrounding Kosterhavet National Park

The Koster Islands, along with the surrounding Kosterhavet National Park, are an exceptionally beautiful location in northern Bohuslän. The islands, consisting of North and South Koster, are largely nature reserves, where you'll encounter a stunning mix of rolling cultural landscapes, herb-rich coastal meadows, and wind-swept outer archipelagos.

On South Koster (8 km²), you'll find lovely cycling routes. If you combine your visit with a trip to North Koster, you can explore the island on foot. Taking the day as it comes, in true Koster spirit, is easy when visiting South Koster. The distances are pleasantly short, and most of the cycling is on nearly car-free gravel roads, with traffic consisting mostly of mopeds, electric cars, and other cyclists. The surrounding Kosterhavet is always present as you explore South Koster, and it's never far to a refreshing swim, so don't forget to pack your swimwear when visiting the island.

A great starting point is the nature area Tjärndalen, where you'll find Lagunen Bikepark. Here, you'll discover an exciting park with many possibilities.
