Boat trip in the archipelago

Seal safari

Join us for an interesting and exciting nature experience at the farthest reaches of Strömstad’s outer archipelago. In the heart of Kosterhavet National Park lies a large seal protection area, and here in the Koster Archipelago is also Sweden's westernmost lighthouse station, Ursholmen. The area is home to plenty of seals!

You can get here by your own boat, or a passenger boat departs from the northern harbor in central Strömstad during the summer months. Alternatively, you can see seals up close from a kayak.

Selin Charter offers archipelago tours during the summer period, departing from the northern harbor in Strömstad and also stopping at the Koster Islands' docks: Ekenäs, Långagärde, and Västra bryggan.

Kust Event runs cruises to Ursholmen this summer. Departures are from the northern harbor, Lagunen Camping, and Ekenäs dock (South Koster).

If you arrive by your own boat, there is a natural harbor with a guest dock at Ursholmen. Download the "Nature Guide Båtliv" for those who visit the Kosterhavets national park by boat.

Paddling close to wild seals is an experience that leaves a lasting impression. In Strömstad’s archipelago, with its expansive sea areas and peaceful coves, you are offered a unique opportunity to get close to these fascinating animals. Read more about Kayak paddling with or without a guide.
