Where can I find maps and information brochures about Strömstad? On our website, you can find informational materials. Information brochures and maps are also available at the tourist office (summer opening) or at one of our InfoPoints (staffed information stations) located around Strömstad Municipality.

Our surroundings offer nature experiences, culture, and history. Feel the touch of history at Blomsholm Manor with its unique archaeological site, which includes one of Sweden’s largest stone ships. Visit the medieval church in Skee or enjoy beautiful views from the old Svinesund Bridge, a border crossing at the Swedish-Norwegian border. Strömstad’s nature is diverse and offers plenty for those who enjoy an active outdoor lifestyle. We can recommend the scenic Koster Islands and the Kosterhavet National Park, or take a hike on the Bohusleden trail.

The Koster Islands
Visiting the Koster Islands is like taking a holiday from everyday life, only a two-hour drive up the lovely coast from Gothenburg. Once you arrive, you are greeted by an amazing archipelago, picturesque fishing villages in a gloriously beautiful natural landscape, breath-taking views and much more. The boat journey to the Koster Islands – North Koster and South Koster – takes around 45 minutes. If you have your own bike with you, you can take it on board, space permitting, for a small fee.
- Walk or cycle on South Koster
South Koster is ideal for exploring on foot or by bike as the island has virtually car free.
If you choose to make your way around by bike, you can see a lot in a short space of time as the distances are not particularly great. There are a number of signposted trailswhich take you around the island. If you don’t have a bike with you, you’ll be able to hire enough for the whole family from April to October near several of the ferry landings on South Koster. the ferry landings on South Koster.
While you’re wandering the island don’t miss the view from Valfjäll, the highest outlook point on South Koster looking out over the Koster Islands and Ursholmen.
- Walk on North Koster
North Koster, one of the lovely Koster Islands, offers coastal walking in dramatic landscapes. Walk over heaths and through small forests to glacial erratic fields and salty swims.
- Kosterhavets national park
The national park lies off the coast in northern Bohuslän and is a valuable recreational resource - it is one of Sweden´s most visited tourist destinations. It is attractive for paddling, diving, swimming and other nature experiences both on and by the islands along the mainland and on the outlying seacoast.

In Strömstad there are plenty of sights, exciting places such as Blomsholm heritage site and the Svinesund Bridges. But there are also places here that are a little different and a little out of the ordinary. Here are some of our favorites.
- Visitor centre Kosterhavet
The Naturum visitor centre is a stone’s throw from the Ekenäs jetty on South Koster. It is a staffed information centre where visitors can get answers to questions about the national park, pick up maps and find lots of information.
