The hiking trail is a simple forest path that is very steep in some places. It's an advantage to wear boots. The trail forms a loop and passes ten signposted sights, including the Huseby ancient fort, a stone sheephouse, cottage foundations, and the magnificent beech forest in the snail shell ravine of Uggletoften.
From the ancient fort at Huseby, you have an extensive sea view. From the hill to the west of the ancient fort, you can, in good weather, see Måseskär's Heidenstam Lighthouse, built in 1865. To the west, you can see Härmanö Huvud, Stocken, and Råön, and to the northwest, the stone lighthouse on Hållö, the water tower on Smögen, and Brandskär Lighthouse. Further to the north, you'll spot the church and water tower in Lysekil, with the refinery's chimneys in between.
Morlanda Hembygdsförening has arranged the parking area and takes care of the ancient fort, which you'll find after ascending the steep path.
Care for the environment
Keep in mind that the land is privately owned. Therefore, please show respect and consideration when visiting the area. The area is part of the Storehamn outfields, declared a national interest for outdoor recreational activities. Many of the plants are protected. Feel free to bring a picnic on your hike and remember to take your litter with you.

How to get here:
The Huseby Trail is located along Highway 178 between Varekil and Ellös. Just before Ellös, turn towards Hälleviksstrand. After 50 meters, there is a sign for Fornborg on the left, where you will find a parking lot. The Huseby Trail starts on the other side of Highway 178. You walk through the pedestrian tunnel under Highway 178 and follow to the right at the small blue wooden arrow.
