Rhododendron valley
Skövde
Skövde’s Rhododendron Valley is home to exotic plants and trees, such as the gingko. In late May and early June, the enormous rhododendron bushes come into bloom and the whole place is magically transformed. The bushes remain in leaf during the winter, ensuring that you are surrounded by greenery whatever the season.
A gem of a garden with unusual plants
The Rhododendron Valley was created in the early 20th century by gardener Karl Magnusson. Following its restoration in 2017, the area has become a park-like garden once again. Many unusual plants have been introduced here. Signs lead you around, describing the plants on display.
An accessible oasis
Rhododendron Valley is ideal for a picnic with family or friends. Close to central Skövde, the valley is an accessible oasis. There are benches, a barbecue spot and plenty of grassy areas on which to spread out a picnic blanket. There is disabled parking along Karl Magnussons Väg.
