Lycke Lilla Höjen and Björkebacken
Lerdala, Skövde
Lycke Lilla Höjen is a leafy ridge that offers spectacular views of nearby Kinnekulle Mountain. The Billingen Trail also passes here, so the reserve is ideal for walking.
Beautiful evening sun with Kinnekulle as a backdrop
The ridge was formed when the most recent inland ice melted. The terrain is leafy and varied, and the nature reserve includes forests, pastureland and fields. The highest section boasts excellent views of Valle, and you can watch the sun set behind Kinnekulle in the evening.
Calcareous earth with a wealth of flora
Many different flowers grow here, including cowslip, carline thistle, liverwort and lungwort. West of Lycke Lilla Höjen is Björkebacken, which is also surrounded by an ancient agricultural landscape. The earth here is extremely calcareous, and dropwort, restharrow and rough hawkbit all grow here. There are also many species of fungi.
Discover the nature reserve during the cherry blossom season
The area is at its most attractive during the magical cherry blossom season, which Valle is famous for. However, it is also well worth a visit during the summer and autumn. The nature reserve is located on the west side of Billingen, about 20 minutes from Skövde.
