Boulogner Forest
Skövde
Wander among beech trees and lofty pines, and discover open spaces in the beautiful Boulogner Forest. The forest was designated Skövde’s city park in 1875, and is now the town’s largest woodland. Boulogner Forest is centrally located, right next to the train and bus station and the University of Skövde. During the summer, you can swim in Boulogner Lake.
Activities and lit pathways
Boulogner Forest is full of life and movement. Concerts, spring bonfires, midsummer celebrations and student parties are held here, along with many other activities and events. There is also a playground for children, benches, and pathways that are lit in the evenings. The University of Skövde’s student union building is located here in the park.
Swimming in the city centre
In addition to a pleasant atmosphere and enjoyable walks, Boulogner Forest also has a bathing lake. A fountain helps to circulate the water, and is turned on in May. This marks the beginning of the swimming season. The water is tested every week during the swimming season to check the water quality and to test for algae. Dogs and other pets are not allowed in the swimming area. There is plenty of car parking next to the student union building.
