Enjoy the landscape on skis and skates - in our area there is a large selection of winter activities. Go skiing downhill or crosscountry, or go ice skating on one of our many lakes.
Downhill skiing on Mösseberg
During the winter the whole family can go skiing in one of west Swedens most snow safe downhill skiing slopes Mössebergsbacken. You will find everything you need to go down the four different slopes – both ski rental and skiing school. You will also find a café and a heated cabin for breaks adjacent to the slope.
Downhill skiing on Billingen
The downhill skiing slope Billingebacken offers both lovely downhill skiing and a great view. Go down the 400 meter slope or enjoy the Fun Park with rails and jumps of different difficulties. You can rent skis at the site.
Downhill skiing at Stenkällegården
At Stenkällegården in Tiveden you can go skiing in a slope suitable for the whole family. Choose one of the four different slopes and go skiing on your own, or participate in the skiing school. Why not have a nice lunch att the Troll grill? Skis are available for rent at the site.
Cross country skiing on Billingen
On the table mountain Billingen, an official center where you can train for Vasaloppet, you will find no less than 10 kilometers of cross country skiing tracks with artificial snow. In addition, you will also find around 42 kilometers of nature skiing tracks where you can enjoy the nature or exercise for Vasaloppet during snowy winters. You can rent skis at the sight.
Cross country skiing on Mösseberg
On Mösseberg you will find cross country skiing tracks where you can exercise for the winter competitions. Choose between the 3,7 kilometer track with artificial snow, or one of the nature trails that are prepared according to snow access. There is both a shower, dressing rooms, a sauna and heated cabins available at the site.
Distance ice skating
If you are longing for stretching out your legs in long skates you have come to the right place. In the area you can go distance skating on the famous birdlake Hornborgasjön, suitable for long distance ice skating, but also on the beautiful Lake Vänern where you can go skating among islets and skerries. If you are looking for smaller lakes you can go skating on the string of lakes in the Valle area. Please remember to always be careful. We recommend anyone who wants to try distance skating to join a course before their first tour.
