Rail nostalgia
Skara - Lundsbrunns Railroads offers a pleasant and exciting railway journey at a leasurly pace through a varied environment. Enjoy the sound from the rail joints and the smell of smoke from the steam engine. The engine and the coaches are from the first half of the 20th century. At Lundsbrunn station you may have a cup of coffee at our café, which is open on traffic days. If you bring a picnic basket, why not enjoy its content in the station park. If your preference is a meal, the options are the restaurants at the golf club or the local pizza place.
Railway museum
Around the year 1900 when rail traffic was at its height, it was possible to ride the rails from Skara in five directions. This proud tradition is kept alive by the Museum Line Skara-Lundsbrunn, a remnant of the 1887 Västgöta Line. A fine museum has been set up in the engine round house, including engines, cars, photos and various artefacts shown in a genuine setting. The museum is usually open when the steam's up. The more than 40 year old Skara-Lundsbrunns Järnvägar association/Skara Järnvägsmuseum are responsible for keeping the superb old narrow gauge steam engines and cars running through the lovely landscape between Skara and Lundsbrunn.
