Exciting animals and nature, stroller-friendly paths and proximity to bathing areas. In Sjuhärad there are several trails that offer wonderful experiences for the whole family.

Vänga Bog, Borås (Pram-friendly)
The Vänga Bog hiking trail is a scenic and easy hiking trail. Here, the children can look for exciting birds from the bird towers or look for small lizards, which are quite plentiful in late summer. The trail is approximately 4.5 km in total but can be shortened depending on how you choose to walk it.
Nearby is Vänga Kvarn, where you can have coffee in the greenery next to rippling water. There is also a living working life museum here, where you can learn more about how they grind the flour.
Kypegården, Borås (Some parts are Pram-friendly)
Kypegården is an outdoor and recreation area where there are several tracks to choose from, ranging from 1.3 km to 8.7 km. The shorter tracks are pram-friendly and the longer track offers a slightly more hilly terrain.
Take the opportunity to take a dip in Lake Kypesjön, which is located at the starting point of the tracks. There is a swimming area, sauna, kiosk, several barbecue areas and large grass areas for little legs to run around. Feel free to combine the hike with a visit to Borås Zoo, which is right next door!
Hofsnäs nature trail, Tranemo (pram-friendly)
The Hofsnäs nature trails, located in the Torpanäset nature reserve, are fantastically beautiful and offer easy and lakeside hikes among fine oak groves. There are pram-friendly trails between 1 km and 4.8 km long and a nice swimming area with a sandy beach and jetties.
You can find Hofsnäs Manor here with a café and bistro, as well as an overnight stay in Hofsnäs's little lake cabin. Hofsnäs' large garden and playground is also a popular excursion destination for the children after dinner.
Don't miss the nearby Torpa Stenhus. Torpa Stenhus is one of Sweden's best preserved manor residences from the 16th century. Let the children try exploring the castle as a prince, princess or knight (clothes are available to borrow). There is a lot of exciting things to see such as armor and dungeons. Why not listen to exciting stories about the castle ghosts?
Storsjöleden, Borås
On Storsjöleden, the children get a wonderful wilderness feeling. The trail is 8.5 km long and quite hilly. A tip if you want a slightly shorter hike is to follow the accessible loop where there are both barbecue areas and fishing piers.
From the start, you can walk about 1-1.5 km in both directions on pram-friendly roads. There is also a swimming area and large adjacent green areas.
Vildmarksleden, Ulricehamn
The wilderness trail offers beautiful nature with a chance to seean elk or deer. Choose between walking a shorter loop of 4 km or a longer one of 8.5 km. Next to the trail there are a couple of fox and badger pits and along the trail there are signs with interesting information where both adults and children can learn more about nature and culture.
At the start and finish of the trail is Årås Säteri with an exciting manor setting. Nearby there is the possibility of swimming at Varpaledet's swimming area.
Komosse, Ulricehamn
At Komosse you can experience a fantastic landscape - the feeling of being in the mountains! Let the children walk on the exciting trail and look for birds in the bird tower.
During the walk, the children can learn more about interesting history and nature - what is a walking lake? How do the carnivorous plants that you find on the bog work? That and many other questions can be answered out on the bog.
Jälmåleden, Tranemo
With its 13 bridges over the Jälmån stream, it is easy to create your own loop on the Jälmåleden. Here there are many interesting sights for both young and old - discover burial grounds from the Viking Age and walk over an exciting suspension bridge.
A good day trip is the northern part of the trail (around Dalstorpsjön), here you mostly walk near the lake and pass several of the sights (incl. suspension bridge). Feel free to combine the hike with paddling on the Jälmån for an extra spice!
Hiking tips for families with children
Feel free to bring binoculars or a magnifying glass and let the children explore nature. Don't forget to take lots of breaks and feel free to plan games and other fun on the hike! Have a barbecue, eat your packed lunch or take the opportunity to swim in a lake. Sometimes a cafe open in summer, a kiosk or an exciting cave can speed up tired child's feet.
