Stage Tranemo – Svenljunga (22km)

On this stage you cycle through beautiful nature with idyllic farms and grazing cattle. The cycling route is mostly paved, but about 7 km is hard packed dirt road. You can cycle a fully paved section by choosing an alternative route, first via the cycle path and then the last part (5 kilometers) on county road nr 156, however this has more traffic.

Tranemo

The municipality's capital is named after the crane. You can see it as well as other birds at Tranemo lake, which glistens invitingly in the middle of the community. Near the lake and along the cycle path is also Tranemo church, one of the town's landmarks with its unusual hexagonal shape and seven towers. Here is most of what might be worth a stop. Food for hungry stomachs, accommodation for tired cycling legs or shopping, bathing and cultural experiences for those who just want to take a break. The cycle path passes through the community.

Swap your bike for dressin cycle?

Visit www.ambjornarp.se or more information about the dressin bikes.

Uddebo

Here you pass the small community with the historically interesting built environment. You cycle past everything from the lavish executive villas to functional work residences and owner-occupied houses, all embedded in scenic surroundings. One of the villas; "Fritidsgården" today hosts an exhibition about Uddebo's history.

In Uddebo, you choose whether you want to continue along the paved country road or whether you want to take the hilly dirt road (about 100 meters in height). The trail is signposted to the gravel road.

Paddle between Uddebo and Strömsfors

In Uddebo there is an opportunity to take a break from pedaling by swapping bikes for canoes and paddling between Uddebo and Strömsfors. Rent a canoe in Gulahuset and enjoy nature from the water instead.

Strömsfors

Strömsfor's working community is located along the river Assman. The watercourse and its endless energy has been a major driving force in Strömsfor's development. In Strömsfors there is a rich and exciting industrial and cultural history, you can learn more by walking along the popular storytelling trail of about 1 kilometer.

Bynanders motor museum

If you choose to continue along the signposted dirt road over Ullasjö, you will eventually pass Bynanders motormuseum right next to the trail. This is one of Sweden's most modern motor museums and the exhibition consists of approximately 60 cars and over 120 motorcycles. There is also a nice cafe here for those who are hungry or have a coffee craving.

Klovarps strawberry plantation

Fill up the energy stores with some natural treats! Klovarp's strawberry cultivation offers self-picking if you want to bring sun-ripened red berries along.

Svenljunga

Treat yourself to a break in Svenljunga! Most of the town's shops are located around the beautiful, cobbled square. If you want to fill up the energy depots, there are plenty of cafes and restaurants. Why not enjoy an ice cream right on the edge of Ätran? Another good break activity is to follow the cultural trail around the square and take part in stories about the history of Svenljunga. And if you want to do something other than cycling, the health care facility Moga Fritid is located one kilometer from the square. Here there is a café, bathing, a steam sauna and other leisure activities.
