1. Live in a glass house in the forest

ERIKSON COTTAGE. In the architect-designed glass houses at the Erikson Cottage, you get a completely unique nature experience. You can enjoy the silence and nature that embraces you, regardless of the time of day. Discover small joys such as a great tit landing on the roof or a deer wandering past in silence. Spend the days walking the forest, cooking outdoors and paddling in the nearby lake. Idyllic like no other! You can find the glass houses on the outskirts of Ljungsarp, just one hour from Borås.

Family-friendly glamping at Kalv's school house.

2. Glamping at a renovated schoolhouse

KALVS SCHOOLHOUSE. In the community of Kalv in southern Sjuhärad, close to the borders of Småland and Halland, the Laurén family has transformed the old school building into a cosy hostel. Many original details have been kept, including the gymnasium with plinths and bars. They also offer glamping in comfortable tents in the small grove next to the school. Kalvsjön is just a stone's throw away with a lovely swimming area, which makes it the perfect holiday accommodation for families with children.

Feel the history in a traditional manor house.

3. Manor house with ten fireplaces

LYDDE GÅRD. An avenue of hundred-year-old maple trees leads to the old manor house, which has its roots in the Swedish textile industry. Over the years, the House has acted as a weaving factory, brickworks, paint shop and shirt-sewing factory, before it was carefully renovated in the early 2000s into today's farm hotel. In the house there are ten tiled fireplaces and many of the beautiful details have been preserved. Welcome to this charming guesthouse in the heart of Sweden's textile center, where every room has its own story to tell.

Spend the night in Sweden's first glas igloos.

4. Winter igloos made of glass

BORÅS CAMPING. The Sky vault is the name given to the glass igloos found at the campsite in Borås, and it is not difficult to understand why. When you lie down to sleep here, you have the whole starry sky above you. This glamping accommodation is open all year round, so you experience the autumn rain fall, the first rays of the spring sun or enjoy a warm cup of tea while the snowflakes fall. Welcome to Sweden's first glass igloo!

5. Treehouses with hot tubs

HYSSNA FOREST RESORT. Brothers David and Oscar are two carpenters who have taken treehouse building to new levels. At home in their childhood forest in Hyssna (45 minutes from Gothenburg), they have built several unique houses with nature as inspiration. One house hangs over a cliff edge, one lies by a magical forest stream and one looks up over the treetops. The houses are a comfortable hotel standard, even though they are completely surrounded by the forest. At two of the houses, you also have access to your own hot tub. Gather your best friends or surprise your loved one with an overnight stay here. Magic!

6. Bohemian canvas tents in a working environment

BRUKET I WIARED. We believe that the Bruket at Wiared on the outskirts of Borås is a worthy destination every day of the week. The area is host to a café, bar, restaurant, stone oven bakery, shop and a beautiful orangery with large glass sections. You will want to spend several days here, and luckily you can spend the night at Bruket's Camp. The tents are comfortably furnished and you can order breakfast and pizza kits directly from the bakery.

Dreaming of a real adventure?

7. Wildlife Camp among Africas wildlife

BORÅS DJURPARK. Have you ever dreamt what it would be like to live in the middle of wildest Africa? Now you have the chance to get really close to that dream. High above the savannah in Borås Djurpark is the Wildlife Camp with spacious lotus tents that are inspired by wild Africa. In the evening, when the park is closed to the public, you get a guided tour followed by a cosy campfire before it's time to fall asleep to the sounds of the savannah.

Modern meets vintage at Villa Strömsfors.

8. Magnificent Art Nouveau villa from 1908

VILLA STRÖMSFORS. There are many houses around Sweden that have been abandoned and lie derelict. That is why we are so happy that the Ståhl family fell in love with Villa Strömsfors in 1914, a hundred years after its glory days. Their renovation of the villa is truly something out of the ordinary. Wallpaper, stucco, tiled stoves and carvings – every single detail is significant, and the most charming thing is that vintage is interspersed with modern. Discover Villa Strömsfor's irresistible charm!
