There are some guidelines to follow when venturing out on the hiking trails with your dog: Leave nothing but pawprints and keep your furry friend on a leash. With water all around us, there are plenty of spots to take a refreshing dip that aren't municipal bathing areas where, unfortunately, dogs are not allowed.

Guidelines for Bringing Your Dog into the Great Outdoors

Throughout the year, it's important to keep an eye on your dog to ensure it doesn't chase wildlife. From March 1st to August 20th, you must keep your dog on a leash to protect mammals and birds that are breeding. Dogs should always be leashed in all of Sweden's national parks.
