Wander through the hilly landscapes of Orust on a cultural and historical trail, where you'll encounter a plethora of abandoned cottage ruins. Along the path, fourteen ruins and structures are marked with signs detailing the history of these cottages. Declared a cultural heritage site in 1987, this area is protected under cultural heritage laws.

Kultehamn, located in the southeast of Orust near Svanesund, is a fascinating natural area with numerous attractions along the trail. Several stone cottages narrate tales of extreme poverty and famine, where every new day was a struggle for survival. Due to its rich history, the area is now nationally significant for cultural heritage preservation. In addition to the remnants of houses and cultivation, you'll find surviving cottage plants such as lilacs, spireas, and wild roses. Abundant rowan trees contribute to an impressive birdlife. The numerous marshes amidst the hills offer delightful natural experiences. Björkestadsmyren hosts extensive populations of twinflower and round-leaved wintergreen. At Kultevatten, you may encounter bog orchids and cloudberries.
