Ullervad's church
Ullervad
This big and airy church high up on a hill with a wide view were erected in 1861. It has a spacious long house, expanded chancel and tall tower with gabled roof.
The oldest church known in the area was depicted for the first time in 1670 but it was already expanded and rebuilt.
1861 was the old church taken down and the new one was built, just south of the church standing there today is a remembrance stone place to bring back the thoughts of the old church.
The church has one of the strangest altarpieces in the diocese, it has a figurative Golgotha scene in the middle and on both sides are pictures from the passion history.
The altar cabinet comes from the older church building and is from the 15th century, even the baptismal pound is from the old church in the 13th century.
From the church you can hear the two church bells call in for church service, they are from 1679 and 1754.
A fascinating object in Ullervad’s church is the big organ that was built at Åkermans 1866 and has since been renovated in 1925 and 1964 by Nordfors and Aagaard, this organ has 18 votes.
