Walking tour in Sjötorp
Sjötorp

Learn about the village by Göta Canal and Lake Vänern

The summer idyll Sjötorp is located where the Göta Canal meets Lake Vänern. A popular destination during the warm months. Go on a small tour of Sjötorp, on your own, and get to know the place a little more. A free brochure can be picked up at the community center or downloaded here on this page.

Sjötorp attracts many visitors during the summer. Here the Göta Canal starts its way through Sweden from Lake Vänern and many people start their journey along the canal here. Sjötorp is also a good place to experience the locks up close. There are no less than eight locks within walking distance.

Here is also bicycle rental, a fish stall, crafts, a museum, eateries and a bit of shopping. The passenger boat M/S Bellevue makes trips on the Göta Canal from here.
