Retrovägen
Göteborg-Nossebro-Mariestad

Over 500 km with selected sights

Along the Retrovägen (Retro road) you will discover places where the cultural heritage of the 20th century is preserved and paid attention to. Drive along the winding back roads with treasures from the past - cafes, petrol stations, shops, restaurants, museums and much more.

Retrovägen and Retro Nossebro run between Gothenburg and all the way up to Lyrestad in Mariestad municipality. Along the way, you can make stops at various places where the cultural heritage of the 20th century is preserved and highlighted. For many, it will be a journey of nostalgia. The sections are usually drawn on small winding roads, which makes the journey even more enjoyable.

The retro road, originating in Nossebro, is divided into two parts. One has a southern route that follows road 190 to Gothenburg. Alternatively towards Alingsås and E20 towards Lerum on to Gothenburg. The northern section winds from Nossebro up through Skaraborg all the way to Lyrestad. In the middle is the stronghold of retro attractions Nossebro in Essunga municipality.

The retro way then and now

Retro Nossebro was born in 2010, when some retro enthusiasts decided to highlight all Nossebro's fine interiors and exteriors from the 50s, 60s and 70s. In 2014, the project grew, on the initiative of Essunga municipality, to Retrovägen 190, and in 2015 even more visitor destinations were incorporated when the Retrovägen continued up through Skaraborg.

From 2016, Retrovägen is operated in association form in collaboration with the municipalities along Retrovägen's route. Read more about all the places and upcoming retro events on the website www.retrovagen.se. You can also follow Retrovägen on Facebook.
