Fishing in Lake Vänern

Vänern – Sweden’s largest lake and the third largest lake in Europe after Lakes Ladoga and Onega. There are no fewer than 34 different species for you to try to catch in Vänern, the most common being perch, pike, zander, whitefish, burbot, salmon, eel and brown trout.  Whitefish: White bream, carp bream, chub, ruffe, ide, roach, tench. Fishing in Lake Vänern is free other than on private land. Boats can be hired from Kinnekulle Camping and Rogers Marin in Lidköping.
