Beautiful views of the castle and archipelago

Discover Kållandsö on foot - walk along one of Kållandsö’s fine paths. The Roparudden Path starts at Läckö Castle and 4 kilometres later you are at the end of the promontory, looking across at the island called Stora Eken. The name Roparudden means shouting straits, and it was here that a man stood and shouted or signalled across to the island of Stora Eken. This was to call the ferryman when people wanted to cross the straits. The path twists and turns along the lakeside in the small hills by the headland, offering many beautiful views of the castle and the archipelago. If you are lucky you may see an osprey or a sea eagle as you walk over the rocks.

There is also a path for wheelchairs called "Nature, fun for everyone", with exciting activities and information for both young and old.

Rich in nature and history

The Traneberg Path on Västra Kållandsö is 7 kilometres long in varied terrain with rich wildlife and plants, giving many tranquil moments by the lakeside and in the woods. You really walk out into the archipelago, with good chances of seeing many seabirds alongside the path as well as wild animals in the forests. On the promontory by Sundvassholmen there is a special bird protection area which is closed off between 1 April and 31 July. The path goes alongside several old crofters’ cottages and many historical sites including Skeppstaviken, which was the harbour and loading berth for Traneberg in the 18th and 19th centuries.
