Sörbo hiking trail 3 km
Götene

Experience untouched nature and flowing water

The Sörbo Trail starts at Dalakvarn on the outskirts of Lundsbrunn. The path leads into a deep ravine that was formed after the end of the Ice Age, following a large landslide. Over time, the flowing water has further expanded the ravine. During the hike, you'll cross the stream several times on small bridges. The nature here is untouched, with rich vegetation including gray alder, ostrich fern, yellow flag iris, and buttercup.

Quick facts

Length: 3 km

Duration: 45 minutes

Difficulty: Medium

Terrain: Relatively easy, with the exception of a few uphill sections

At Sörbo, two springs emerge from the slope, one of which has iron-rich water. The last half of the trail passes through mixed forest and coniferous forest back to Dala. Netted boards, new bridges, and stairs make the trail easier and more inviting to walk. It offers an exciting hike for both adults and children, with the babbling stream winding along the trail. The hike is relatively easy, except for a couple of uphill sections when climbing out of the ravine.

Start and end:

Dalakvarn, Lundsbrunn

Dalakvarn is located on the southern edge of Lundsbrunn. Since the 1500s, there has been a mill here, originally situated on the outskirts of the village of Dala. From the 1600s until the mid-1800s, the mill was part of Mariedal and later belonged to Lund (now Stora Lund). A new chapter in the mill's history began in 1885 when Emmanuel Svensson purchased the mill area, including land, dams, and buildings. He built the large mill building that still stands by Dalaån. For over a hundred years, the mill remained in the family's possession. The last millers were Ragnar and Olof Ahlin, who both passed away in March 1990.
