Season for asparagus
In early May, one of spring's finest delicacies emerges—the asparagus. The color reveals how the asparagus has been cultivated. White asparagus grows underground, in small mounds of soil that are hilled up in April. You can find this fresh delicacy available for about 6-7 weeks a year, starting in May. Feel free to call before your visit; Bernhard is usually nearby.
Asparagus Day at Vätternsparris
Asparagus Day at Vätternsparris takes place every year on Sweden's National Day, June 6th. In Norra Fågelås, you can visit Vätternsparris farm shop, explore the cultivation, and get tips and ideas on how to prepare the white asparagus. Bernhard showcases the cultivation, and there are opportunities for light snacks, tastings, and the chance to purchase asparagus. A fun day for both adults and children!
