A three-day event highlighting the town's vast array of creative talent working in various art forms. The Art Weekend takes place from Friday, June 6 to Sunday, June 8 in 2025. Be prepared for a weekend filled with art.

Exhibitions during the weekend

The exhibition are ongoing throughout Hjo - both inside the town but also in the countryside. In order for you to have a holistic approach and be able to navigate to what you like, it is good to start at the group exhibition (place for this will be announced later). At the group exhibition you can see one creations per participants. There you get a physical map, so you can visit your favorite creators to see more.

Map of the galleries

There are a lot of participants during the art weekend in Hjo. They are spread out all over Hjo and you can walk, bike or take your car around the area. Most of them have temporary galleries and some of them share space so you can visit several at the time.

Where it all started

Hjo's art weekend started in 1968 in the Castle of Hjällö and has grown since. Hjo's art weekend attracts mostly local artists, but you may also find artists from other parts of the country.
