Walk in wonderful beech forest the Fjällastigen path has 10 kilometres of varied landscapes with lush deciduous woods, pastures filled with flowers, the path passes smal lakes where you inte summertime can relax with coffee breaks and cooling dips.

The Fjällastigen Trail is a round walk of 10 km in total, winding through varied countryside past small lakes, along paths and gravelled roads, in a terrain rich in natural and cultural history. The area is full of croft ruins, ancient stone monuments and old mills. Admire the lovely Beech forests in Molla Nature Reserve, the prolific animal life, and view points with vistas that stretch for miles. Don’t forget to take a picnic to enjoy in one of the lovely rest areas.
What to see
The hiking trail passes several lakes. The trail is somewhat hilly and mainly follows forest paths and smaller gravel roads through beautiful spruce forests. There is a rich birdlife in the area. Interesting information boards are positioned along the trail to tell you about the birds you may encounter. Våtasjön’s shore is home to a very special snake spruce, and Pasque flowers grow in Mollaryd. The first section of the hiking trail takes you through the extremely beautiful birch wood in Hult, Mollaryd.
At Bokelund, you can leave the trail and take a short walk of approx. 150 m to a vantage point offering a fantastic view over the Molla plain. There is also a rest stop here. There are also rest stops at Våtasjön and Hallasjö in Borgstena. There is also a bathing spot at Hallasjön.
Accommodation
The closest place for to rent is in village of Vesene 3 kilometers north of Mollaryd . You can also find houses for rent in Od and Alboga 5 kilometers and in Ljung 6 km north of Mollaryd.
By the lake Norra Sämsjön there is a campingsite. Säms camping also have some houses for overnight stay.

Food and Café
Closest place to eat is in Annelund att Frendo and at Liljebackens resaurant, in Ljung att the Pizzeria Parkudden or in Od at the Crea Diem Bokcafé.
In the summertime there can be summer open coffe place in Café Hult, a couple of kilometers from starting point in Mollaryd, close to the Naturreserv Beech forest Hult.
In Ljung and Annelund there is a supermarkets where you can find food for to bring with you and cook over open fire or eat when you taking a break.

Fjällastigen is a circular trail with the start and finish in the same place. Start at Mollaryd station, where you can park your car or take the Borås – Uddevalla train.
Another suitable starting point is the beech forest in Hult, from the train stations continue the gravelled road to a parking lot that is situated next to the road.

The train between Borås and Herrljunga stops right next to the train station "Mollaryd station".
Västtrafik
By car from the town from Herrljunga is appoximately 30 minutes.
From Borås city i takes about 30 minutes to reach Mollaryd, a couple of kilometers north of Borgstena.
