Snappan nature reserve
Brålanda

A new small nature reserve at Kroppefjäll with a hiking trail

Welcome to a new nature reserve at Kroppefjäll! A few meters into the forest, you can already see large yew trees that occur in large numbers in the area. Wild yew is quite rare and a remnant of the warm period after the last ice age.

Snappan, a roughly 30-hectare forest area on Kroppefjäll in Brålanda/Vänersborg, is very beautiful in general. The rare yew is scattered over the grounds, especially in the southern and eastern parts. The yew gives Snappan a very special character and feel.

Hiking trail

Length: 1.5 km
Type of trail: Loop
A small, nice medium-difficult trail with some steeps and tall spruce forest. Follow the trail markers clockwise. The trail connects to the Granan exercise area for longer hikes.

How to find Snappan

Snappan is located on the east side of Kroppefjäll, between Brålanda and Färgelanda, just south of the Granan ski club. Follow the signs towards Granan and the Nature Reserve. At SK Granan, drive to the southeast, and you will soon reach the parking lot.

Please respect the reserve's rules and regulations
