Nature reserve & hiking trail

In at the steep slopes of Ragnerudssjöns Beranter, the terrain may be steep and difficult to hike, but you are rewarded with a magnificent view of Ragnerudsjön and a forest that is largely unaffected by modern forestry.

Along the eastern side of Lake Ragnerudsjön and Lake Gålsjön are some of the most untouched and botanically rich parts of Kroppefjäll. The forest is full of deciduous trees and the variety of plants is diverse, especially along the streams.

Length: 4 km
Type of trail: Loop
Welcome to a hike that make your pulse raising in some of the most untouched parts of Kroppefjäll. Follow the yellow markings around the reserve. It is quite a difficult hike in steep terrain. The toughest part is from the parking lot up to the lookout with a beautiful view - don't forget the camera! You will also find a bench perfect for tired legs.

How to find Ragnerudssjöns branter

From the main road between Uddevalla and Bengtsfors (road 172) take a turn to the branch road 2 km north of Högsäter with a sign for the camping site. Continue towards Ragnerudssjöns Camping. Park at the campsite or drive past the campsite and continue 1 km until you reach the parking lot of the nature reserve.

Camping site with lovely cabins and a lot of activites. Here you will also find a very popular restaurant and café. Close to all the hiking trail in the area.
