Hike in the Southern part of Kroppefjäll

The Buxåsen nature reserve is an interesting part of Kroppefjäll. There are a lot of treats for those of you who are interested in plants and birds.

The Buxåsen nature reserve includes a old, varied forest in Kroppefjäll's small and hilly southeast corner. The southernmost part of the reserve is a steep and rocky edge of deciduous forest towards the farmland surrounding the village. Further in, the spruce forest dominates, with elements of aspen and oak.

Length: 3 km
Type of trail: Loop
Hike in mixed forest terrain. The hike is suitable for anyone who can make their way over logs and rocks in the forest. The trail is also linked with the Kroppefjäll Trail, which is 54.2 km long. Perfect for those who want to hike a little further.

The 54 kilometre long Kroppefjäll Trail is must for anyone looking for real adventure in deep green forests. Here you can walk undisturbed at your own pace without meeting another soul for several hours.

Along the trail you’ll pass many beautiful and historic places, little fairy-tale tarns and stunning vantage points. Leading off the trail are links to shorter walks you can do in a day.
