Lovely cycling by Lake Lelång

Start and finish are in the picturesque town of Gustavsfors, right on the border between Dalsland and Värmland. You’ll be able to buy emergency provisions in the store here and visit the restaurant and cafe down in the harbour.

The first half of the loop follows Lake Lelång northwards with a relatively low elevation. There are plenty of nice places for swims and lakeside stops.

Make a detour for lunch

Most of the time you’ll be cycling in Värmland where you’ll get the chance to appreciate the lovely scenery, with forests and countryside in between.  When you reach the northern tip of the lake you can make a short detour to Lennartsfors for lunch or fika in the summer cafe.

Minimal car traffic

As you turn the handlebars south, the climbs increase a bit and there are some steeper slopes, but it is still a relatively gentle bike ride in terms of elevation. Enjoy the tranquility of your surroundings, you can cycle a long time here without being disturbed by other road users.

If you’re lucky you might see some boats going through the locks on the Dalslands Canal between lakes Lelång and Västra Silen when you get back into Gustavsfors. Truly idyllic!
