Where the Dalsland Center is located, has since the 1830s been engaged in the manufacturing industry. Ironworks, pulp mill and finally paper mills have been housed in the large premises. Today, the old factory premises form the heart of Dalsland's center with a tourist center, shops, restaurant and café in the majestic premises.
