MELLAN KORNSJÖNS fishing area
Dals-Ed
There is a lot of vegetation in the lake providing protection and food for the smaller fish. This, in turn, leads to excellent pike and perch fishing. In addition to being a good fishing venue, Lake Mellan Kornsjön is popular for canoeing and long-distance ice-skating. The species that are well represented include perch, pike and roach, with a smaller stock of lavaret, tench and eel.
Several large pike have been caught in Lake Mellan Kornsjön in recent years, most of them via trolling using a rowboat. Large wobblers are especially effective. The reeds provide excellent perch fishing using silver-colored jigs or coarse fishing with natural baits. The extensive belts of vegetation offer good opportunities for smaller fish to live well. Both large pike and perch prefer to feed in the reeds and shallower waters in the mornings and evenings. In the autumn and early spring when the water is colder, it is possible to catch larger fish in shallow waters all day. Coarse fishing or trolling with float baits using roach or perch can lead to good catches here. Jerkbaits that imitate a wounded or restless baitfish can also give good results in spring and autumn. Buster Jerk in varied colors and sizes are an easy to use, effective lure.
