The countryside trail
Åmål
A beautiful biking trail that really deserves its name. Along the winding narrow roads you will experience the diversity of the countryside in Dalsland. Some parts of the trail goes through hilly terrain and passes small villages, open landscapes and deep forests.
From the point of departure at the Tourist Office in Åmål, take the street Ödmansgatan out of Åmål. After about 4 km you will reach Tollebol Mill, a summer museum and cafe were they serve waffles and coffee from July to the middle of August.
Farmland with small villages
After Tollebol, you continue on a smaller asphalt road which winds through a small-scale farming landscape with small villages and farms. The trail then turns to to a 9 km long, and in some parts very hilly, dirt road that goes through a larger forest area towards Tösse. Just before Tösse, the trail enters road 2236, which you follow for about 1.5 km. On this road there can be a lot of traffic - be careful!
Make a stop for ice cream
In Tösse there is a Circle K gas station for those who want to eat a fast-food meal or maybe an ice cream. From Tösse, turn north towards Sotebyn and after 1 km you will pass the old church of Tösse. After that, the trail continues on new asphalt back towards Åmål through a typical Swedish cultural landscape.
