Educational Programs

You can book an educational program at the Book Adventure. What was the world like before books existed? Can you write using pictures? These are some of the questions you’ll explore together.

A Playful Learning Adventure for All Ages

Would you like to discover the Book Adventure with your class or children’s group? We offer educational programs tailored to the group’s needs and interests. Join us on a journey through books with fun experiences and playful learning. Schools in Skara Municipality receive a personal invitation.

Preschool and Kindergarten – Grade 1

What did storytelling look like before books? In this guided tour, you and your class will explore the history of the book – from stories around the campfire to today’s digital reading. Can we write with pictures, or do we need letters? Get insights into storytelling from ancient rock carvings to today’s alphabet.

The Book Adventure is a literacy initiative and Sweden’s first permanent play-and-learn exhibition focused on the history of the book. The Book Adventure is hosted by Skara Municipality with financial support from the Swedish Arts Council and Sparbanksstiftelsen Skaraborg.
